Georgina and Theodore's Special Aniversary

Hi! This is my first story-post and so I'm really excited about it. I had made a Valentine's Day Store this past February and never used it much. So, today, while looking at it and wondering what I could do--since Valentine's day was already over months ago--I had a great idea.

After all, this idea involves both Valentine's Day and warm weather (it's July!) and so it was perfect.

I hope you enjoy reading this story. Let's begin...

(By the way, the story is SUPER LONG which was something I never expected so if you don't think you have the time to get through it all, than please, just remember that I will make my other posts way shorter than this one. I just had SO MUCH to write about, and I had so many good ideas that it just came out too long. But I kept it, and added captions to all of the pictures so if you want, you can just look at the pictures and kind of get a feel for the story. If you can't get through the whole thing, my apologies. I promise, the next posts will be much shorter and simpler than this one.)

So, we all know now that Daisy Maple is a very clingy baby girl. She doesn't like being away from her mother for a second each day, and the only free time that Georgina could get was when her younger daughter was napping or had just been put to bed for the night.

Georgina and her husband Theodore believed it was just a phase Daisy was going through at the moment, but the problem was, their 15th Wedding Anniversary was coming up and they didn't know if the special day would be any different from a normal one. So, one night, after both Daisy and Millie were in bed, Georgina and Theodore talked about what they should do.

They went to bed that night feeling tired but satisfied. And the next morning, after driving Millie to school, they talked more... (even though Daisy was trying to get her mother's attention by tugging on her dress!)
"Mommy! Mommy! Up!" Daisy interrupted, wanting to be part of whatever her parents were talking about.

"So," Georgina asked her husband. "Daisy's still very--"
"Mommy! Mommy! Up!" Daisy interrupted, wanting to be part of whatever her parents were talking about.
"Clingy..." Georgina finished. "are you sure this is a good idea?"
"I think he's be alright. After all, we know Beverly's family from our first day here--which, I know, was kind of recent--and they're all very nice Sylvanians."
"Okay, your right." Georgina said finally after a long pause, which wasn't a silent one, since Daisy was still clinging to her and asking to be lifted up by her mother. "We'll do it, because tomorrow is the last day before our 15th Anniversary and we have nothing to lose."

"Hello...Yes?" Georgina called into the phone.

So, the next day, Georgina called a sitter: Beverly Beagle, a kind teenager who job was to baby-sit so that Sylvanian parents could have more free time to do whatever they wanted.

"Hello...Yes?" Georgina called into the phone. "This is Georgina Maple speaking. I've come to talk with Beverly. Okay, thanks!... Hi! Yes, we are need of a sitter for Daisy... Yes, it's OK if you bring food or toys... No, no food allergies. Would tomorrow at 1:00 PM to 3:00 Pm be alright? Oh, your so kind. Thanks again... yep, we'll see you then! Bye...bye!"

...Georgina put on a light pink lipstick and a dab of perfume and Theodore put on a lovely grey vest.

Just before Beverly would come, Georgina and Theodore got prepped up and ready. They were so thankful they had called a sitter for their Anniversary, and felt like they had made the right choice.

For the first time in a long time, Georgina put on a light pink lipstick and a dab of perfume and Theodore put on a lovely grey vest. They were ready to go out.

"Hi, Beverly, were so glad you agreed to do this... you should know, Daisy can be pretty needy!"...

Soon after, Daisy's sitter came!

"Hi, Beverly, were so glad you agreed to do this... you should know, Daisy can be pretty needy!" Theodore said with a chuckle.

"Here's the 20$. We've never been more thankful for a sitter like you! Are you sure you'll be alright, three hours is a long time." Georgina added.

"It's okay, I've sat for longer times," Beverly said with a kind smile. "And please, just call me Bev."

Daisy was beginning to grow less shy of this new smiling teenager. She poked her head out from behind her mother's dress. "So your Daisy?" Bev bent down on one knee so she could see Daisy from the little girl's level. "It's nice to meet you."

But it turned out Daisy just wanted to see what was in Bev's bag. "Blue!" said Daisy pointing to the bag. "Yes, it is blue." Bev said. "Blue is my favourite colour--for now, anyway."

It touched their hearts to see Daisy bonding so quickly with her baby-sitter, especially for the first time meeting each other.

"We'll be back, okay, Daisy?" Georgina asked her daughter.

While Bev laid her things down inside, Daisy gave her parents each a hug, even though she hardly knew what was going on.

"We'll be back, okay, Daisy?" Georgina asked her daughter.
"Yep," Theodore added. "Just going to have some num-nums and then we'll come see you."
Daisy suddenly realised her parents were going somewhere. "No, me come!" she said sorrowfully.
"Daisy, we'll be right back. Why don't you go see what's in the bag?" her mother said.

The thought distracted Daisy and she forgot that her parents were going somewhere. She crawled off to the doorway to see Bev and the bag full of things.

"Well, we better head off, now." said Theodore. Make yourselves comfortable and we'll be back at 3:00." "Yes," Georgina added. "Have a great time and thank you so much for doing this!"

"Your welcome, and don't worry, Daisy is going to be just fine." Bev replied from the doorway.

"Bye Daisy! Bye, Bev! Thank's again!"

"Bye Daisy! Bye, Bev! Thank's again!" Theodore and Georgina called as they headed toward the car.

"How about that new fish restaurant that just opened? I heard all of their fish are wild-caught and just purely delicious." Georgina replied. "And besides, we've never even been."

"Where should we go to eat?" Theodore asked his wife.

"How about that new fish restaurant that just opened? I heard all of their fish are wild-caught and just purely delicious." Georgina replied. "And besides, we've never even been."

"Why don't we stick to something we know already? What is the food tastes bad?" said Theodore.

"Then we just get our money back." Georgina said. "I read on their website that they can do that if you don't like it--guaranteed."

"Alright, then," said Theodore. "Let's go."

"Me look? Bag look?" she tried to piece together a sentence.

Back at home, Daisy was still interested in finding out what was in the bag. "Me look? Bag look?" she tried to piece together a sentence. "Alright," Bev said. "Why don't we go do that in your room?"

Bev helped Daisy crawl up the stairs.

Bev helped Daisy crawl up the stairs. Soon they were on the second floor.

Unfortunately, Daisy's mind was fixated on only one thing: to get her hands on Millie's toys.

But as soon as they got there, Daisy lost interest in the whole bag idea and wanted to play in her sisters room. Bev knew that Millie wan't going to like finding her miniature diorama a mess when she came home from school. "Come on, Daisy, let's go and see what I brought for you..."

Unfortunately, Daisy's mind was fixated on only one thing: to get her hands on Millie's toys.

...Daisy had a mission...

Although Bev tried to stop her, Daisy had a mission and that mission was soon complete!!!

Bev had to carry a fussing Daisy out of the room.

Bev had to carry a fussing Daisy out of the room...

She snuck away to a hiding spot only she knew.

So she could clean up the mess! While her baby-sitter tidied Millie's room, Daisy went somewhere without Bev knowing: she snuck away to a hiding spot only she knew.

"Daisy?" Bev called. "Where are you?"

"Daisy?" Bev called. "Where are you? I know you couldn't have gone far." Beverly Beagle was starting to worry. What if Daisy had tried to go down the stairs and had hurt herself? What would she do then? Suddenly, Bev heard some grunting from behind the changing table.

Daisy shook her head and pointed to her diaper. She blushed "Poo."

"There you are, Daisy! What are you doing behind there? Did something make you scared?"

Daisy shook her head and pointed to her diaper. She blushed "Poo."

Bev was stunned for a moment at Daisy's awareness levels for a one year old. "Poo?! But how am I going to change your diaper? I guess I'll call your parents and ask them what I should do."

Bev reached into her dress pocket and pulled out her phone. She quickly dialled Mr. and Mrs. Maple's number.

Bev propped Daisy onto the changing table and reached into her dress pocket and pulled out her phone. She quickly dialed Mr. and Mrs. Maple's number and waited for someone to answer.

...looking through the menu of the new fish restaurant, Fisher and Son.

Meanwhile... Theodore and Georgina were looking through the menu of the new fish restaurant, Fisher and Son. The name made sense, at it was run and founded by old timer fisherman Tom Fisher and his son, a chef, Schroeder Fisher.

"Hmm, Georgina, do you think I should get Lobster or Crab?"

"Hmm, Georgina, do you think I should get Lobster or Crab?" Theodore asked his wife while ruffling through the crustacean section of the menu. "I don't know, Teddy," Georgina replied. they all look so good. I think I'm going to settle with trout." "I guess I'll try the salmon." decided Theodore.

... Oh, hi, Bev! What seems to be the matter...

Suddenly, Theodore's phone started making a funny buzzing sound.

"Hmm. Someone's calling me... Oh, hi, Bev! What seems to be the matter... oh! you say that Daisy has a little something in her diaper? How to do it? Well, you're in her room, right? Yes? OK, good. You see the diaper bag next to the tall plant beside her bed, on the other side of the railing? Yeah? Good. So, use that to change her..."

Bev found the diaper bag and got things ready for Daisy.

Bev found the diaper bag and got things ready for Daisy. She tried to put the little girl on her back but for some reason Daisy fussed when her sitter tried to do so. "Wah!" Daisy cried. "Wah, wah!" "Don't you want to have your diaper changed?" Bev asked. "No!" shouted Daisy, kicking her legs and waving her arms.

The fish jingled. This was enough to keep her occupied while Beverly did the rest.

Fortunately, Bev was ready for this kind of  situation. She reached into her bag and pulled out a little fish toy. She handed it to Daisy and Daisy shook it. The fish jingled. This was enough to keep her occupied while Beverly did the rest.

Meanwhile, Theodore and Georgina had finally made there orders and were now enjoying a scrumptious combination of tuna-casserole and shrimp. Theodore had chosen the salmon for his plate and Georgina had gone with the trout for hers.

Meanwhile, Theodore and Georgina had finally made there orders and were now enjoying a scrumptious combination of tuna-casserole and shrimp. Theodore had chosen the salmon for his plate and Georgina had gone with the trout for hers. Both were enjoying the time away from home--just the two of them together--at last. It felt like ages since they had got to do that, because they usually celebrated their anniversaries visiting family or friends... but not just the two of them...

Although she was anxious to get back home and tell the baby-sitter how thankful she was Bev existed, Georgina just wanted to stay with Theodore at the restaurant forever.

I zoomed in on their plate... Yum! I wish I could be eating that right now... the only problem is my allergy to shrimp... :( Well, back to the story. It looked so delicious that Georgina couldn't ask for anything more. Although she was anxious to get back home and tell the baby-sitter how thankful she was Bev existed, Georgina just wanted to stay with Theodore at the restaurant forever.

When they finished their meal, Theodore parked the car closer to the restaurant and rummaged through it's trunk.

When they finished their meal, Theodore parked the car closer to the restaurant and rummaged through it's trunk. "What are you doing, honey?" Georgina asked. "Oh," Theodore replied. "I just wanted to show you a little something I got.

"Here it is..." and he pulled out...

"Here it is..." and he pulled out...

His wife was astonished!

Two gifts in beautiful red wrapping paper for Georgina. His wife was astonished! "Oh, thank you, Teddy! You didn't half to!" and set to un-wrapping them right away!

...a lovely bottle of Georgina's favourite perfume brand!

The first gift was a lovely bottle of Georgina's favourite perfume brand!

..."the Ideal Coffee Machine" the couple had seen one night on the TV.

The second one was "the Ideal Coffee Machine" the couple had seen one night on the TV.

"Thank you again! Forever and ever!"

"Oh, Teddy, I love you so much!" Georgina exclaimed happily. "Thank you again! Forever and ever!"

He surprised her again with her favourite chocolates, 'Heart Bursts' and got the new 'swirl' edition.

He surprised her again with her favourite chocolates, 'Heart Bursts' and got the new 'swirl' edition. By the way, my Mom and I made the heart box out of red cardboard paper (or just very thick good quality paper) and the chocolates out of fimo.

Theodore was so stunned that he became curious. "What's the box for?" "It's to put your things in... photos, cards, scrapbooks from Millie and I...! Your welcome!"

"That reminds me..." Georgina said with a smirk on her face. "Wine goes well with the chocolates, right?" And pulled out of her purse a small bottle of wine and a little box.

Theodore was so stunned that he became curious. "What's the box for?"

"It's to put your things in... photos, cards, scrapbooks from Millie and I...! Your welcome!"

Theodore was still to amazed to speak any longer. He finally squeaked "Thank you!" and gave his wife a big hug. He wasn't very used to being celebrated, mostly just on his birthday.

...well, you can see for yourself!!!!

His card was touchingly sweet. It reads... well, you can see for yourself!!!!

...this was the time to reveal his final gift

But mostly it was good because it gave Theodore the thought and the courage that this was the time to reveal his final gift...

"Zoom! Open wide, Daisy, here comes another yummy mouthful of your food!" Bev said with a grin.

Meanwhile, Bev was feeding Daisy her overdue lunch-- broccoli, peas, and scrambled eggs... not too appealing for Bev herself, but it was just was Daisy needed. Bev found out that Daisy enjoyed when her baby-sitter zoomed the food like an airplane into her tiny little mouth.

"Zoom! Open wide, Daisy, here comes another yummy mouthful of your food!" Bev said with a grin. Daisy giggled and obediently opened her mouth. She was fond of the peas and eggs, but it was a little hard for Bev to get Daisy to eat the broccoli. Eventually Daisy agreed to eat it and Bev was surprised by the final result: Daisy had eaten most of her food on the plate!

... they sat on it together, got comfy, and looked through a picture book, one that had been Bev's ever since she was a little girl!

After Daisy finished eating, and since Beverly had been given permission to sit on Mr. and Mrs. Maple's lovely queen-size bed... they sat on it together, got comfy, and looked through a picture book, one that had been Bev's ever since she was a little girl! And since she was fifteen now, it was getting quite old, almost like an antique in her house, or something like a treasure. She brought it to all of the little boys and girls she baby-sat and they always loved it. So, although it wasn't the perfect bedtime story (it was about farm animals) Daisy got tired and soon...

She fell fast asleep right in Bev's arms.

You guessed it! She fell fast asleep right in Bev's arms. It was getting close to 3:00 PM now, and Daisy had already missed her nap, so Bev was thankful she finally had some time to herself to clean up the messes Daisy and her had made after a long day of playing together.

Bev put Daisy to sleep, and she didn't even need a blanket.

Bev put Daisy to sleep, and she didn't even need a blanket. It was July, and the air was very warm and humid, so if Bev had put a blanket, Daisy would have probably been dripping with sweat within a couple minutes.

She washed Daisy's plate and baby-sized fork...

Once Daisy was asleep, Bev tidied. She washed Daisy's plate and baby-sized fork...

She also rearranged the chairs so that they looked almost perfect...

She also rearranged the chairs so that they looked almost perfect...

And cleaned up the toys.
And cleaned up the toys.

This was her from the front--after she was all ready and had packed her things...

This was her from the front--after she was all ready and had packed her things... in case you want to know hat she brought, Bev decided to take along with her a set of flash cards for babies, a bouncy ball small enough for a baby to grasp, the little jingly fish toy, and last but not least, the farm book.

She laid her things down and went to get it: guess who was there?

Soon after, around 3:15 PM, Bev heard knocking at the front door. She laid her things down and went to get it: guess who was there?

"Hello! Were back!" Georgina said cheerfully. She seemed to be in her best mood ever since they had gotten home.

The Maple family, and they had brought Millie, too. She was home from school quite early since her parents didn't want to pick their daughter up from school less than half and hour after they just came home from a fancy fish restaurant. "Hello! Were back!" Georgina said cheerfully. She seemed to be in her best mood ever since they had gotten home.

Bev finally got a chance to meet Millie. They shook hands. "Hi, I'm Bev, your sister's babysitter. Remember meeting me at the party to welcome you here, at my house?" "Yeah," Millie replied, smiling. "I do."

Everyone quieted down, and so she brought them all in.

"Shh! Daisy's sleeping!" Bev said. Everyone quieted down, and so she brought them all in. "Daisy's sleeping?" Theodore whispered. "Boy, of all the things she could be doing right now, sleeping, you say?" Bev nodded. "Wow, than maybe we should hire you more often!" replied Theodore, jokingly. Bev blushed, and whispered "Thanks."

"It's you who we should be thanking," Georgina whispered and hugged Bev. Bev hugged back.

"It's you who we should be thanking," Georgina whispered and hugged Bev. Bev hugged back.

"Yes, thank you for all of your help today. We hope you have a great night with your family." Theodore added and he and Bev shook hands.

"Yes, thank you for all of your help today. We hope you have a great night with your family." Theodore added and he and Bev shook hands. "Same to you," Bev said.

Bev soon left and the family life at the House on the Hill returned to normal again.

Bev soon left and the family life at the House on the Hill returned to normal again. Millie went up to do her homework, Theodore went to the bathroom to take off his vest, and Georgina just sat down on a chair and smiled. She has something to show us, you know... here it is, Theodore's last present!

!!!
Yes, the job offer was accepted by Theodore who asked his wife to fill it out, right there at the restaurant! Georgina was SO happy! She was over the moon with joy! So, I guess I will have to set right to work (again) to make a beautiful garden shop for my precious Mrs. Maple to work.

THE END!
I hoped you liked my story!
Also, the next post I hope to be about Millie, since we haven't heard much from her yet and I want to start developing her character. all of you have a great day (or night depending on which part of the world you are in) and I hope my post inspired you in some way to create something amazing!

Also, if you got through the story than lucky you! Sorry again about how long it was! Won't make the same mistake again!

Bye! xo Emilie

  2. Thanks so much, Nina! Even though the post was long, I'm happy you got through it! It takes a lot of patience to read something like that, so I'll write a shorter, less complicated one next time. Happy to hear from you, Jemima, Fudge, and all of your other friends from Riverside! Thanks again for adding me to your list and you as one of my followers. It's always a pleasure to hear from you!

  3. Hi Emilie!
You've got a lovely blog and I've been enjoying your previous posts and stories! You're a very good writer and photographer!
It was lovely to get spend some time with Mr and Mrs Maple on their special day, and also with Daisy and Bev. The Maple cats are adorable, and the more I see of them, the more I want to add them to my collection!
Naughty Daisy trying to forage in her sister's room! It reminds me of how I used to be when my big brother was at school too! Older sibling's rooms are just too tempting for little ones...
Don't worry too much about the length; I hardly noticed it because I was enjoying the story so much! It's great that you're so full of wonderful ideas and that you can share them on your blog!
Thanks for sharing this lovely story! I look forward to the next update!

  4. Hello Emilie - it is lovely to meet your Maple family and their babysitter! I very much enjoyed this story - long stories are good when they are fun to read, as this one was.
I like the fish restaurant you have made - the large fish sign on the top is a nice touch.
I look forward to reading more of your stories. :)

    1. Thanks, GreyRabbit!
The fish sign is actually my little sister's toy, a wooden fish belonging to her grocery stand! I thought it would make a good decoration. I got the idea from Cutata and her miniature fish monger. The project started out as a fishmonger, too, but ended up too fancy to actually be one. So it is now a fish restaurant. Happy you enjoyed my story.

  5. Hi Emily!
I loved your story and to be honest with you, I didn´t find it that long because I really enjoyed it.
It´s been lovely to meet the Maples and have a look around their beautiful home. I knew from your previous stories that Daisy was a bit of a handful and sure she is but she´s also adorable.
I´m glad Georgina and Theodore could have some time for themselves on their 15th anniversary. They seemed quite happy to be able to spend some time together. They were lucky to find Bev, she is a very good baby sitter.I love the idea of the bag and all the stuff she brought with her.
Looking forward to getting to know a little bit more about Millie.I guess she likes miniatures. I love her little sylvanian diorama. It is so cute! No wonder Daisy wanted to get her hands on it.(By the way, which set does it belong to? I haven´t seen it before)
Last but not least,it´s really great news to know Georgina got the job she wanted!

Congrats on this charming story, beatiful pictures and lovely handmade items.

    Have a wonderful day!
    Hugs!

    1. Hello, Cutata!

Thanks for the lovely comment. Everyone commenting has been telling me the same thing: they didn't find the story long either because they enjoyed it so much. Glad you feel the same.

My mother helped me make the bag out of thick blue paper and some ribbon for the handle. It turned out a little on the small side, but otherwise it was good to hold all of the things Bev brought with her for Daisy to look at. I promise the next post will focus more on Millie, maybe she will help her mother out with Georgina's new job. I have already decorated the place where she will work and although I still need to add a few more things, I can't wait to show it to you and all the other bloggers probably by August 1st or August 2nd!!

Millie DOES like miniatures. The tiny diorama was actually a Sylvanian Families doll house, small figures, and a red car that came with the toy shop building. I made the grass out of a square piece of green felt and the shrubs out of different colours of green yarn. I don't know if it is visible in the pictures, but I also added a blue paper pond and grey paper stepping-stones. I'm happy you liked it. I did too when I saw the finished look. It didn't even take that long to build.

Thanks again for all of your kind words. Have a wonderful day, too!
